This feature got implemented with WP version 2.8 so information in this article isn't as useful as used to be, anymore…
I would guess this is thing that no template can provide yet: navigational
link
elements (always inside head
part).

I'm afraid this topic won't answer the question from the title. Rather than that, I hope some good tips will be shared in comments. What do you read (with pleasure)?

Since WordPress 2.5 the header in administration takes more vertical space than ever before. The Admin DropDown Menu plugin has exist long time before 2.5, but only after recent WP release also the plugin was (totally) remade and his behaviour was radically improved.
This image illustrates points how much the height of header
changes during the time and environment :-).

WordPress 2.5 was released a few hours ago and since first alpha stages, more since RC1, many people have shared their huge excitement. Even people I used to find apathetic. But I still don't feel anything similar to excitement. Why this release didn't impress me, is explained at the following lines.

Plugin, that allows to create a chronological list of posts, an archive, clean archive. The behaviour is particularly suggestible via administration. Generated archives are cached, so the performance of the plugin is optimized.

Reading a resume of db changes in WP 2.5 I found out, that WordPress will probably never change.
Changed 'comment_approved' to varchar(20) NOT NULL default
'1'
Changed 'link_visible' to varchar(20) NOT NULL default 'Y'
Changed 'autoload' to varchar(20) NOT NULL default 'yes'
Changed 'ping_status' to varchar(20) NOT NULL default
'open'
I think it's a bit overvarchared here…
Update: funny thing I have found right now in the code of WeblogToolsCollection:

This is simple. Write into the comment which of the previous comments you're
replying on, like [4]
and this plugin will make a link from it. The
syntax is changeable through the admin interface (Settings →
Comments' references) and you could actually use this plugin for
something else, if you understand regular expressions.

You may will like to display all your tags in a drop-down (it's already possible with categories and thanks to a plugin, with posts too).
And remember, since this is some kind of raw code (I share it rather as a possible inspiration than as a finished optimized solution), it's except else not accessible with disabled java-script.

That's quite a complicated name for a plugin, isn't it?

As you may notice if you have Kahi's Wordpress notes seen before, this page got a new outfit. I'm going to continue with this work for some undefined time, so i wanted to upgrade this site's face to a solid level. Comparing with the previous version (that lacked even a sidebar), this is definitely a big step forward. Well, stop talking, this should be just a plain notice what happened, see you later before a more meaningful piece of text ;).
